Remembering the Moment We Went to Haiti

A year ago, a devastating earthquake struck Haiti and the world looked in horror at the catastrophic results. We now know that in an absurdly short period of time, perhaps even in those first few minutes, Israel begin to mobilize its crew. The planes were loaded within 8 hours; a 15 hour flight, and another 8 hours until the field hospital was set up; the rescue workers ready to go save lives.

This is the last photo taken – moments before the team left Israel. They left in sunshine and landed in a hell beyond their worst nightmares. They made us so proud then; they make us so proud now.
