– September 2003: IMF report titled "Economic Performance and Reforms under Conflict Conditions," states that Arafat has diverted $900 million of public PA funds into his own accounts from 1995 - 2000. May 2, 2004: Tali Hatuel, 34, and her daughters - Hila, 11, Hadar, 9, Roni, 7, and Merav, 2 - of Katif in the Gaza Strip were killed when two Palestinian terrorists fired on an Israeli car at the entrance to the Gaza Strip settlement bloc of Gush Katif. Arafat's Fatah and Islamic Jihad claimed joint responsibility for the attack. Aug 5, 2002: Avi Wolanski (29) and his wife Avital (27), of Eli, were killed and one of their children, aged 3, was injured when terrorists opened fire on their car as they were traveling on the Ramallah-Nablus road in Samaria. The Martyrs of the Palestinian Popular Army, a splinter group associated with Arafat's Fatah movement, claimed responsibility for the attack. Arafat specialized in high-profile attacks targeting civilians, in order to inflict the severest psychological devastation. The slaughter of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics; the assassination of American diplomats in Sudan; the massacre of school children in Maalot, Israel; the hijacking of the cruise ship Achille Lauro, in which wheelchair-bound American Leon Klinghoffer was tossed overboard--Arafat was responsible for these and hundreds of other kidnappings, car-bombings, hijackings, and brutal murders. | By Paula R. A site about Israel, being Jewish and living in a world where things aren't always bright and shiny, but where there is always hope that tomorrow will be better.
This site is dedicated to the people who inspire me to stop what I am doing and write.
To my husband, to my children. To my parents and sister and brother, and their families. To my brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law.
To the victims of terrorism over the last few years.
To the soldiers of Israel.
To mothers. | |
To the Jews who are no more, and to the Jews yet to be.
To those around the world who understand that the path to peace is not reached through violence, to my Arab friends and neighbors.
To my international friends and email pals... |
in short, this site is dedicated to those who have touched my life, and in so doing, have brought forth my words.
