In May, the massacre of Jewish people during the Holocaust was
"scientifically impossible," according to an article published by an Iranian satellite channel on its Web site. The article was written by Nicholas Kollerstrom, an academic specializing in astronomy, who had his fellowship terminated by University College London last month after he said there were never any gas chambers at Auschwitz. Press TV, an Iranian English-language 24-hour news channel, was set up last year, by the Iranian government, to offer "unbiased" reporting and "
in-depth and complete analyses of current affairs," according to its Web site. It posted Kollerstrom's article on Sunday, and despite protest from a Jewish community organization, the article is still on the site. In the article, titled
"The Walls of Auschwitz‚" Kollerstrom argues that
"the alleged massacre of Jewish people by gassing during World War II was scientifically impossible." Kollerstrom's work is also hosted on the Web site of the Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust‚ which also promotes the works of Holocaust deniers David Irving of England and Ernst Zundel of Germany.
An exhibition of the subject of the Holocaust in the program of cultural events marking “The Establishment of the Zionist Entity” that took place in Qum (where most of the important religious centers are located), was planned by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. The “works” of 230 artists from Iran and abroad are represented in the exhibition. Most of the items represent the Jews in an anti-Semitic manner as controlling the world and being the Western Trojan Horse, “a foreign body planted in the heart of the Moslem countries” and the United States of America as Israel’s puppet. Hamid Rasai, the Advisor to the Minister of Islamic Guidance, said that behind the decision to put on the exhibition were cultural goals that the Ministry set itself to mark the ”Anniversary of the Establishment of the Zionist Regime”. The exhibition was opened symbolically on Israel’s day of Independence and continued until May 25, “The Declared Day of Victory of Hezbollah over the Zionist Regime”, the day of Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon in May 2000. The Minister’s Advisor said that the cartoon caricatures were especially blunt and each of them questioned the Holocaust or as the Iranian Minister defined it:”That Fraudulent Myth”. Hamid Rasai indicated that the exhibition was intended to be a mobile one that would be shown in other provinces and cities in Iran.
During the summer months of June and July, an anti-Semitic documentary series called the “Armageddon Secret” is broadcast in Iran featuring “Iranian Scholars” presenting the classic anti – Semitic thesis according to which the Jews are striving to reach global destruction through the War of Gog and Magog, all with the purpose to rule and control the world. The MEMRI TV site broadcasts the relevant parts of the series. An Iranian university professor, Ali-Reza Karimi, indicates that Israel’s goal is to “take over the world and hold its central position” is based on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and therefore, “the Jews inspire to rule the world. They encourage destruction and ruin, and we can witness such actions around us”. Karamini says that the Jews not only believe in the promise to rule from the Nile to the Euphrates, but also that “God gave them the entire world”. Iran is usually proud of its positive approach to its Jews, however, the narrator in the series present the Jews in Iran in a different light. “The political and economic power the Jewish oligarchy enjoys has played a major roll in the history of Iran and the entire world”. Karimi adds and says that “the entire world is aware that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion include plans and policies of the Elders of Zion to conquer the world and establish a global Jewish government, as things were discussed during the Jewish Congress in Basel in 1897”. The narrator continued with this line saying that “these plans, which disclose the Zionists’ ideas and plans, were collected and gathered in 24 protocols. They deal with political, educational, social, economic and legal strategies that were planned to be implemented after they destroyed the economy, the civilization and religion of other nations. These strategies were intended to be realized through conspiracies that would lead to the establishment of a global Jewish government. Another researcher, Shams Al-Din Rahmani, determines that the Zionists’ intention was to “totally destroy the Islam. They certainly know it will not be easy and therefore they want try Americanize the Islamic religion”. Another researcher, Sayyid Hashem Mir-Louhi, says that the Russians attacked a Jewish gathering and laid their hands on this book, which was translated into many languages. Mir-Louhi says also that “the book appeared recently translated into Persian”. “There are Jids who deny the book and claim it is not theirs, but after examining the modus operandi of those Jids, you understand that it fits all that is said in the Protocols”. Further on, the researchers refer to the term “freedom” in the Protocols and say that the Jews “will transform the crowds into blood thirsty creatures with stomachs full of blood after which they will fall asleep, whereas making it easier for the Jews to handcuff them”. The scholars also mentioned that the Rothschild family acted as part of a secret political cult which “over hundreds of years distributed a secret network throughout the world”. The “Iranian scholars” say that the Rothschild family was the one who “implanted in the minds of the Jewish wealthy the idea that Palestine is the Promised Land ”. They claim that the majority of Jews did not have a specific country they preferred moving to. “Many considered America or South Africa as their Promised Land”. However, they claim that the Rothschild family’s political power enabled the realization of this conspiracy. “The British government, controlled by the Zionist empire headed by the Rothschild family, was committed to realize the Zionist goal”. These anti – Semitic claims and clear and thin lies as delineated in the “documentary series” are recurrent.
